Ohio Graduation Test results reported in three counties

Preliminary results for the Ohio Graduation Test were released in the Youngstown area. Youngstown schools showed improvement, but with only 30 percent of 10th graders passing all five sections of the test, they are still the lowest scoring district in the area. Test scores were higher on individual portions of the OGT. With nearly 90 percent passing all five parts, Canfield scored the highest in the area. Click here to read more.

Check Fox, a retired Logan High School science teacher, was honored at a board meeting. Among other things, Fox was selected by the Ohio Science Institute and Miami University as one of four teachers to help other science teachers prepare for the Ohio Graduation Test. Click here to read more.

Ohio Graduation Test results mixed in Trumbull County

Nine of the twenty districts in Trumbull County saw a decline in the percentage of students who scored proficient on all five parts of the Ohio Graduation Test. Bloomfield-Mespo School District experienced the largest decrease at 16.7 percent. On the opposite end, Weathersfield had an increase of 16.5 percent. There was also some improvement in scores in the county's two inner-city districts of Youngstown and Warren. Click here to read more.
