OGT Practice Test
Give us your opinion about OGT testing.

Students taking the OGT must know how to use the OGT calculator. The OGT calculator is different from other traditional calculators. Knowing the correct way to use the calculator is a necessity in being able to correctly answer math and scientific questions. Here a few tips to using the calculator.

The key you will need to multiply rational numbers with your calculator is the fraction key, the key looks like this, A B/C . It is in the third row and the fifth column. This key will allow you to input fractions, both proper and improper, and mixed numbers. Your answer will be a proper fraction or a mixed number. This is a key you must get familiar with on the OGT Calculator.

With the OGT Calculator you can also change mixed number to improper fractions and improper fractions to mixed numbers by simply using the inverse key INV which is the second key in the first row, and the fraction key which we covered above looks like this. AB/C .

Also to input a negative number you use the +/- key in the last row to the left of the = key. You input the number first then the +/- key. The OGT Calculator is simple to use once you get the hang of how to use it.

Proper Fractions would be entered into the OGT Calculator like the example below.
3 x 9 = would be entered in this manor
10 11
Key Strokes: 3 AB/C 1 0 x 9 AB/C 1 1 =
Display would look like this: 27 _l 110
The answer would look like this: 27/110

Improper Fractions would be entered like the example below
-7 x 28 =
4 21

Key Strokes: 7 AB/C 4 +/- x 2 8 AB/C 2 1 =
(The calculator will change improper fractions into mixed fractions)
The display would look like this: -2 _1 3
And the answer would like this: -2 1/3

Students should practice using the OGT Calculator often until they get the hang of all the keys and how to enter the information correctly to get the correct answer.
