Cleveland Schools go Door to Door Remind Students of the OGT

OGT Practice Test
Give us your opinion about OGT testing.

Saturday morning as was reported in The Plain Dealer news, Cleveland Ohio is making sure that sophomores are being reminded how important it is to get prepared for the upcoming OGT. Cleveland Ohio schools Chief Executive Eugene Sanders, board members, staff, students and parent volunteers all went out to the southeast Cleveland neighborhood around the John F. Kennedy High School for several hours. More groups, including hundreds of students, spread throughout the rest of the Cleveland district. Their intentions were to spread the message that March 12th is the beginning of the OGT and students must pass in order to graduate.

They were attempting to reach the homes of 4,000 of the schools sophomore students. The sophomores are the youngest group that will be taking the OGT beginning March 12th. City schools failed to meet a single state education standard last year and students did poorly on the graduation exam. They want to ensure the sophomores are ready for the OGT that tests students in Reading, Writing, Science, Math and Social Studies.

Most of the volunteers went out and encouraged parents to get their children to make the OGT test a priority and they urged the students to study hard as this test is very important to their education and their future.

Thankfully they found that some of the students are already doing what it takes to be prepared March 12th when it is time to take the OGT. You can read all about their efforts the link is posted above. We all should take notice of how hard this district is working to make sure the students and parents realize how important this test is. All Ohio high school students need to get prepared. Their future depends on being fully prepared for this test.
