Ohio Graduation Test are Students Worried?

OGT Practice Test
Give us your opinion about OGT testing.

This year 2007 begins the first of the tests for the Ohio Graduation Test that students must pass to graduate will be administered during the week of March 5 to Ohio's seniors, juniors and sophomores. Students statewide will take other achievement tests, which cover mathematics, writing, science and social studies, April 30 through May 11.

Because of Ohio’s cold and snowy weather school districts has either already used all their calamity days or they are very near to doing so. These missed school days are making it difficult for students to do enough studying for the Ohio Graduation Test. My son is a sophomore and when school is not in session I help him study at home and try get prepared for the test.

I asked him if he was worried about passing the test. He said he isn’t worried because of missing school. He is worried about taking the Ohio Graduation Test itself because he knows he has to pass it by his senior year in order to graduate. He informed me that he feels the school is doing great at helping getting the students even with missed days of school. He is nervous about taking the test itself because so much is at stake if he doesn’t pass it. However the teachers he said tells them not to be so nervous because they have a couple more chances to retake the tests if they do not pass it this spring. This eases his mind a little. My son says the school does a lot of different things with the students to help them learn what they need to know to pass the test.

When I asked if he was worried that the missed days were going to interfere at all with passing the OGT, he answered.” No. I just want to have to go to school a lot of extra days in the summer.”
