Ohio Gradution Test: Elyria High School
|
The week of March 5th marked the first time that Ohio High School students would be taking the Ohio Graduation Test, knowing that if they do not pass each section by their senior year they will receive their diploma. Ohio made it mandatory Ohio school districts to administer these tests. This school year, 2007, is the first time that seniors will not graduate if they do pass each section of the Ohio Graduation Test.
Schools have been getting students prepared all year for this very important test. Eylria High School had a week prior to the Ohio Graduation Test that was very disruptive. The school had been plagued by multiple bomb threats which caused disruptions and evacuations.
These disruptions did not stop the teachers from making sure the students were prepared for the following week of testing for the Ohio Graduation Test. Passing this test is the only way that this year’s graduating class can receive their diploma’s. Even though students have prepared all year for this, the last week can help students remember key points that may be on the test.
