IQity A Leap in The Future of Education
|
April 9th I sat in on an IQity Demo. IQity is a distance learning system that offers school districts and students a lot of extra help in educating students. With IQity school districts are able to blend the traditional classroom with the digital classroom, combining the best features of both giving students an even better education.
IQity helps teachers deal with scheduling and extended absences and also offers a virtual classroom to help prepare students for important state proficiency exams and the Ohio Graduation Test. IQity is a teaching software platform that enables public high school students to receive instruction and learn via computer in an online environment. It also allows the teachers and administrators to track the progress of students and communicate with them. The special email system only allows students to communicate with other students in their school; they are not able to email students at different schools.
IQity’s course tools include a wide range of teacher management features such as online grade books, student tracking, assessments, data migration, and content sharing. The flexible instructor tools allow teachers to select personal defaults and to navigate various features of the program. The navigation features are very easy to understand. IQity also offers communications options such as email, discussion forums, bulletin boards, calendars, file exchanges, online journals, real-time chats and even a “whiteboard” that supports interactive image uploading and annotation. The program also allows teachers to see how long a student was working in a specific subject. This can enable the teacher to see if the students spend enough time on the subject. There are also no server investments or database requirements for school districts that purchase the system. IQity is a leap in the future of education.
